Happy Halloween!

These are cupcakes I made for Halloween a few years ago. Drew and i threw a pumpkin carving, chili eating party while living in Austin. I made Drew help me make little marshmallow ghosts till his fingers hurt. I still think they are the cutest damn things in the whole world...even though everyone called them my KKK Kupcakes (Isaac). I repeat they are ghosts...NOT klan members.
I love love love Halloween, but not much going on tonight for the super pregnant. Drew and I will get cozy on the couch and watch An American Werewolf in London (classic) and eat a bowl full of peanut butter cups.
Enjoy your Halloween everyone!!!

Sweet surprises from Sonja...

Oh Sonja.....thank you so much for Owen's box of goodies. I am especially delighted by the sock monkey. I love him. I wanted to show you how happy he is here by letting him run around the banana trees. Marlow really wanted to put one of the monkey's legs in his mouth but I wouldn't let him. This is Owen's sock monkey and I think it will be one of his favorites. I love you!

36 weeks...

The belly is still growing and the weather here has become absolutely beautiful. Not too hot...just breezy and perfect.
Everything went well at our check up this week, and from now on I will go weekly until I pop. The baby is weighing in at 6 1/2 pounds. Mama has put on 32. The doctor said that if i go into labor now they will not try and stop it. Owen is pretty much ready for life on the outside...he is just fattening up and getting those cute baby rolls and dimples. We can't wait.

Fantasy Fest...

All last week has been Fantasy Fest on the island. Fantasy Fest is a week long mardi gras-esque celebration that falls the week before Halloween. Every night is filled with craziness and costumes. We all went down to the big parade on Saturday night. The first picture is me and Susie before the parade began, and the following is us after with all the beads we collected. Susie screamed for beads like a crazy woman. Unfortunately I couldn't' post the majority of the parade pictures because almost every float involved nudity or body paint. (my lovely neices read this blog) It gets pretty crazy down here during fantasy fest. You will have to come see it for your self.

A home for Owen...

Owen's bed and changing table/dresser are all set up in our bedroom. We are just waiting for the little babe to come on out. I like that he is in the room with us. I think if he was in a separate room I would constantly be in there checking on him. I like that he will be so close.
The painting above the changing table will be moved. I'm afraid he might pee on it. I heard little boys can be crazy that way.

Lola...Lola...Lola...

We received your goodies yesterday. Thank you SO much for our baby bath tub, hooded towel, and super unbelievably cute little man robe. There was a lot of oohhing and ahhing going on due to the extreme cuteness. Every time I give Owen a bath I will remind him that his Aunt Lola loves him and wants him to be squeaky clean.

I love you.
p.s. have a baby.

35 weeks...

Only 5 weeks left to go. I can't believe it. The belly is definitely getting heavier and the baby's movements are no longer kicks but weird rolling movements. The other day it looked as if he pushed his whole back against my belly as hard as he could. I think he wants out because there is no more room.

The weirdest thing I heard about this week is that the baby has already smushed and moved most of my internal organs, but any day now he will make a final move and shove my heart up and to the left to make more room for himself. How crazy is that?

Aside from being ginormous I feel pretty good. Everyone said the last trimester is really difficult, but for me the first trimeseter was by far worse. The only things I can complain about are occasional back pain, shortness of breath and just feeling plain pooped out.

From my sweet sister...

Thank you Bonnie for our box of goodies. We especially love the Ergo baby carrier (which is being modeled by the lovely drew), and the black apple print. You are the best. I love you.
p.s. send more cookies....they were delicious.

Ohh la la...

The morning after goombay festival drew and I woke up early so we could gorge ourselves at Croissants de France.
What you see above is an almond apricot croissant, a pear thingy and two nutella filled beignets. So so so good.
Yes we ate all that between the two us...we are fatties.

Goombay Festival

This weekend Drew and I went into town for the annual Goombay Festival in Bahama Village. Goombay is two nights of music and food all celebrating bahamian culture. We shared a yummy meat kabob and then split an areapa which is a sweet corn bread with melted cheese in the middle. Super yummy.

Please notice the couple in the matching outfits in the background of drew's picture. Drew and I need matching outfits.

Victory!!!

Floating lobster prison worked.
Patent Pending.

My inventor...

Drew's favorite hobby is harassing the fish and lobster in the canal. He built a floating lobster prison that he can throw his catches in. This way, he doesn't have to keep coming back to the dock every time. So the harassment can continue...uninterrupted.

He is a genius.

34 weeks...

Here you go Bonnie. Here are the bike pictures you requested. Women CAN ride their bikes during the 8th month of pregnancy. I don't do it it often though because drew freaks out. He is very protective of the belly. It feels better to ride my bike than walk. I walk pretty slow these days and it usually makes me want to pee. Pregnancy is awesome.

Thank you Thank you Thank you

I received a very awesome package yesterday from Brittany and Jim. It was filled to the brim with AMAZING clothes for a baby boy. I practically peed myself I was so excited going thru everything. Thank you guys so much. I can't wait to post pictures of our little man actually wearing them.
P.S. Brittany....is any of the Osh Kosh stuff your design?

33 weeks...

Mommy and baby are doing well. Just relaxing and getting ready for little man's arrival. The baby bed came earlier this week and I will take pictures once the room is complete. My days consist of Marlow walks, crossword puzzles, zebra cakes (yum), and countless episodes of "Baby Story" on TLC. The episodes simultaneously pump me up and freak me out about childbirth. I am addicted though.

Wheels...

Our new wheels arrived in the mail yesterday. I ordered it from Sear's with all of my gift cards from Concept Services (thank you guys!). Drew put it together immediately when he got home, and then I swaddled Hillary's panda and we took it on a test drive with Marlow. We were curious how he would act with a stroller in tow (he sometimes tries to bite my bike when I ride next to them). The test went well. The ride is smooth and Marlow could care less. Im sure he will feel differently though when something is crying and moving inside of it.

Sneak Preview

Packages are arriving. Shopping is limited on the island so most of the baby stuff has been ordered online. The crib bedding came yesterday, the stroller should be coming today, and the crib on Friday. It feels like Christmas.

Our 32 week check up went well yesterday. Baby is healthy and looking good. We couldn't get a good picture of his face, but did get another picture of his junk. We are definitely having a boy.
