PPD

Ive had a nasty case of post partum depression. Its been 4 months and I finally feel like I can say I am starting to come out of it. I don't want to say much about it here except that Drew and my parents have been amazing thru it all. It has been hard not only for me but everyone around me. The only reason I want to mention it here is to put it out there in case anyone I know (or even sort of know) ever has to go thru it...they can totally call me. During the hardest days I would have given anything to talk to someone who had been there and gotten thru it. Its a hard wave to ride but it can be done.

p.s. and owen is TOTALLY worth all the crappy crazy hormone nonsense. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

16 weeks...

Little Owen can roll over on his side like a pro now. He is a super snuggle bunny. He sleeps between his mommy and daddy. Every night he rolls over and snuggles against me while I wrap my body around him. It is the most wonderful thing and we are in no hurry for Owen to move to his crib. Co sleeping makes the night time feedings easier for mommy as well.

15 weeks...

Owen and I went to our first "new mommy" group this week. They hold them every Thursday at the library in town. Owen was the youngest but by far the biggest baby there. Most of the babies were 6 months old and they were seriously half Owen's size. I am hoping me and my giant baby can make some new mommy friends.
Owen really pays attention when we read him books now. Drew and Owen have story time every night before bed. I love that he likes story time. We are especially fond of his new "Owen" book.

14 weeks...

Owen took his first road trip to Miami this weekend. He is an excellent traveller. Mommy was able to eat Chick-fil-a and walk around Target for the first time in 6 months. It was awesome. Owen's new star wars onesie says MY DAD RULES...THE GALAXY. He is my little nerd in training.

13 weeks...

Super fatty can sit in his bumbo seat now (somewhat). His neck is getting stronger. My sister was right. The crazy feelings start to fade once babies get a little stronger. The wobbly neck thing was always creeping me out. So fragile. Owen's sleep schedule has been a little screwy this week. He is getting extra fussy at night and refusing to sleep in his crib. Hes been sleeping pressed against my side. I will move him over in the middle of the night...only to wake up and find he has completely rotated his little body back against me.
He is a total titty baby.
