blah...

I wasn't feeling well yesterday. I have been short of breath lately and yesterday morning I had a bad one. I felt like I couldn't breathe and my face got all clammy. It was scary. I don't know if the baby is pushing against my lungs or what.
In the afternoon Susie and I made peanut butter blossom cookies. I ate WAY too many. Later that night I was really sick. My body went into evacuation mode for about thirty minutes. Everything out any way it can (gross). Not sure if I ate something bad or just ate too much and I had no room. Blah. I have a Doctor check up tomorrow.
The baby has been getting hiccups like crazy. Three times today so far. It feels like I have a tiny drunken sailor in my stomach. Hopefully I will get a good ultra sound tomorrow and post some pics of the little man.

31 weeks...

We are now in a single digit countdown till baby...only 9 weeks left to go. Things are going well but I can definitely tell that I am moving out of the cute pregnant phase and into the fugly one everyone warned me about. I feel fine from the belly up, but everything from the belly down is wider, chubbier, bloated and weird. I noticed cellulite above my knees the other day...seriously. I still have more weight gain headed my way but it is no biggie. This is only temporary ( i hope) and it will all be worth it once I am holding our little man.

Yesterday...

...was my sweet dad's 60th birthday. I spent most of the day in the kitchen making him the above croissant bread pudding (yum), and a big chicken pot pie for dinner. No pictures of the pot pie. It went in the oven looking lovely and came out kind of broken and ugly. Still tasted yummy though.

Drew is in Austin for the weekend. He will be there celebrating his dad's 60th birthday. My belly and I miss him and can't wait for him to come home.

Last night...

...we had a little visitor. We kept hearing something knock against the window. It was this little guy eating bugs that landed on the glass. I think he wanted to come inside. I want to keep him.

Waterspout

Caught a picture of a waterspout the other day while driving into town with my parents. Waterspouts are little tornadoes that hit the water and then suck back up into the clouds.

Drew found a job this week. He is working for a company in Key West that remodels old conch houses. It is very cool and I am very proud of him.

Happy Birthday Dana!!!!!

Happy thirtieth Dana! I love and miss you so damn much. You are REALLY lucky that all of my old photos of you are currently in storage and I was unable to scan any in for this post. After 19 years of friendship I have quite a fabulous collection of Dana moments. You are a beautiful friend and a beautiful mom. Bring that baby on an island vacation so I can squeeze her. Have a wonderful birthday day. I love you.

Birthday Boy...

Happy Birthday Robert!!! We love and miss you.....especially Mr. Marlow. Have a wonderful day and eat a lot of yummy food. Come see us soon.

30 weeks...

I am officially ginourmous and only getting bigger. Thirty weeks sounds like a milestone in baby making. Such a nice big round number. Only 10 weeks left till baby time...give or take. Baby should be getting chubbier and losing all his monchichi fur. His eyes should also be open when he is awake. I think I felt him having hiccups the other night, but I am not certain. I love it when he moves. That is a feeling I will miss once my little snuggle bunny is born.

B.O.'s Fish Wagon

On Friday Drew drove around Key West and dropped off resumes with all the construction companies in town. I rode along to keep him company. We stopped for lunch at B.O.'s Fish Wagon. B.O.'s is a little shack made up of odds and ends in a parking lot. It has been a part of Key West for as long as I can remember. I always get the fried fish sandwich with an extra side of key lime tarter sauce (yum). An island rooster sat by my side the entire time. We made sure he made off with our leftovers.

We had our doctor's appointment on Thursday. It went really well. Its a relief that I like the guy. He was really funny during the ultra sound. When he found Owen's little penis he referred to it as "A weapon of mass destruction", and "balls of fire". It was pretty unexpected and hilarious.

I will be getting ultra sounds every visit now. When I get a good picture of our little man I will scan it in.

29 weeks (windy)

There isn't a lot to do when you evacuate with a 150lb dog. These pictures were taken at the Ft. Lauderdale dog park. We are back safely now. Happy the storm passed and didn't hurt our lovely little island. We have our first visit with our new island doctor tommorow. I wonder if he will be wearing flip flops like our new vet was.

Hurricane Ike

We left the keys on Sunday due to mandatory evacuation. It looks like the storm is not going to hit us (thankfully). I wanted to leave because the hospital shut down, and the closest one would be 4 hours away. I'm not due for awhile, but you never know when this baby will decide to come out. We are staying in Ft. lauderdale with Marlow until Wednesday when the winds die down. I will keep everyone posted.

Marlow...

This spot under the palm tree is Marlow's favorite spot. That long palm frond scratches his back and he loves it. He found a coconut there this morning and decided it was his new chew toy.

28 weeks...

Today I am 28 weeks pregnant and officially in my third trimester. Baby should weigh about 2 and a half pounds and be about 16 inches in length. They believe babies start dreaming at this time because they show signs of REM sleep. I think my baby dreams about cold glasses of milk and spoonfuls of peaut butter because those are currently my favorite things.

Bonsai...

This is my dad's Fukian Tea Tree. It is lovely and filled with little white flowers when in bloom. It is currently decorated with some of Bonnie's pottery (not the gnome). My mom said the little turtle was hungry and that is why he ended up there. Too cute.
