If you like Pina Coladas...
Tomorrow me (and my son) will be leaving for a week in the keys with my family.
My sister is already there with my two beautiful nieces. I plan on reading, relaxing, soaking in the sun, swimming with the girls, and apparently they have all been making crazy elaborate coconut boats. I really can’t wait. I haven't decided yet if I will post or not while I am gone, but expect some key west pictures eventually.

Any Suggestions?
We need a really great name for a boy. Of course we had a girls name all picked out and ready to go (Sophia), but boy names have been stumping us. There are several names that I really love…
Finn
Owen
Henry
Calvin
Max
Drew doesn’t really care for any of them, and he has yet to offer any suggestions. I want to pinch him. If you hear of any great boy names please leave them in the comments.

My sad little cowboy...
This is my favorite picture of Drew when he was a little boy. He really looks as if life on the range is cold and lonely. I just want to squeeze him. I posted this because I’m hoping our little boy will take after Drew and look somewhat like this. Drew was a really crazy kid so I’m not so sure if I can handle our son acting like Drew did. Some of my favorite Drew stories are:
When Drew was 2 or 3 he pretended to be a dog for an absurdly long amount of time. He refused to speak (only growled and barked), ate on the floor, and wanted to sleep on top of the couch like snoopy.
When Drew was 9 he decided he didn’t want to go to school anymore. He pretended to walk to school but instead would hide and then return home after his parents left to watch cartoon’s in bed all day. He did this for a whole week. (So crazy)
Drew decided to run away from home when he got in trouble for skipping school. He packed everything he thought he would need for life in the woods. He had brought the classifieds along and began circling ads for free dogs. It was just going to be him and his new canine companion living off the land. His aunt found him before he even spent one night in the woods. Did I mention that he was only nine?
There is also the fighting. Drew was a tough kid that got into fights.
I am totally screwed.

Stay tuned....
Tomorrow morning we find out the sex of our baby. I really can’t wait. I had dreams about our Ultrasound all night last night. Every dream resulted in the doctor being unable to tell what it was. :( I probably won’t be able to sleep at all tonight. Even more than finding out the sex, I am just really excited to get a look at the baby again. Make sure its okay and see how big it’s gotten.
Also, I am lucky enough to be pregnant for Texas’s hottest summer on record. This year we have already had 17 days of 100-degree weather or higher, and summer only “officially” began last week. Good Lord.

One week from today...
…I will know if you are a boy or a girl. It feels like Christmas. I can’t wait.
Today I am 17 weeks pregnant. The baby is now about 5 inches long. Sometime between now and week 20 the baby’s hearing will develop, and it will be able to hear us. I have been feeling really good. I just have some crazy hormonal moments every once in awhile. One second I’m crying in the grocery store because I heard a little kid say “mom”. The next moment I want to flip everyone off on the road because they are driving like maniacs. “Why in the hell did that guy just cut me off…doesn’t he know I’m pregnant?!!?” Yup… I’m highly irrational. Feel sorry for Drew. He never knows if he is coming home to a sobbing puddle or a she beast.

16 weeks
Today I am 16 weeks pregnant. The baby is now about the size of an avocado. The baby can grasp with its hands, kick and somersault. Muscles are developing and the baby can now make faces…squint and frown. A growth spurt is coming. The baby will double its weight in the next few weeks. Grow baby grow.

Great Dane Meet up
This weekend we took Mr. Marlow to a great dane meet up. This one was held on Rex Butterfield's property on Lake Travis. The home was amazingly beautiful and there was a ton of space for all the puppies to run around. Marlow loves playing in the water but is a big weenie and won't go very deep. Drew convinced him to jump off the dock and swin with him in the deeper water, but he DID NOT like it. Marlow ignored us for about 10 minutes afterward because he was so angry. Puppy does not like to swim. Marlow was so tuckered he slept the whole way home with his face propped against my seat. I love my big baby.

two blue peas
My friend Dana introduced me to a really cool website for new mommies, www.babble.com. On that website I found a link to a store that has some REALLY cute baby stuff, www.twobluepeas.com. Look at those tiny elephant feet. The hippo is one of those hooded towels that kids always look so cute in. I love that damn hippo

15 weeks
Today our baby is 15 weeks old. We went to the doctor for a check up and the heartbeat was strong. I love hearing the heartbeat. I feel 10 million times better. I think it is safe to say that morning sickness is behind me (hooray). I am now ready to enjoy the honeymoon phase of my pregnancy. The honeymoon phase is the phase in-between morning sickness and being uncomfortably rotund.
The baby should be about 4 inches long now. Its taste buds are forming, and it supposedly spends most of its day practicing inhaling and exhaling. The doctor said I should start being able to feel movement within a week or so. I’m really anxious for that first feeling. We will find out the sex on the morning of June 24th (woohoo!).
