Marlow can do tricks...
My first attempt at loading a video. Marlow lets out a big fart at the end, but you cant hear it on the video...enjoy.
P.S. Sorry the barking in the background is so annoying.
14 Weeks
This week our baby weighs about 1 ounce. The vocal cords are complete, and its tiny baby hands are now functional. The sex of the baby was determined upon conception, but now it has its little male or female parts. This week the baby begins growing a layer of soft hair all over to protect its little baby skin. So, I basically have a tiny, hairy little Monchichi inside me right now.

This week will be better...
Last week was officially the week from hell. It is also the reason behind the lack of posts and the lack of pictures. My pregnancy has been a little on the rough side. My morning sickness has subsided (which is wonderful), but has been exchanged with new maladies. At the beginning of last week I started another headache that lasted 48 hours (the third of its kind since my pregnancy began). I really hate these headaches. The Tylenol does not touch them. I called my doctor because I couldn’t take it anymore, and she said I needed to get to a neurologist immediately. There was concern that I may have a blood clot due to the length and frequency of my headaches. This of course completely freaked me out. Luckily, the neurologist found nothing to worry about, and just diagnosed me with severe migraines due to the pregnancy hormones. Excellent. Then, a day after my headache subsided I started to get some tooth pain. This evolved into extreme pain and swollen gums over the next day. I went to my dentist who told me I had an abscess, which was probably due to the pregnancy hormones, and actually very common for pregnant women. I had read about pregnant women having bleeding gums and gingivitis, but the abscess was horrendous. I do not recommend dental work when you are only allowed to take Tylenol….ever. This week has to be better. This week WILL be better.

The Business of Being Born
Drew and I watched this DVD last night. It just came out on DVD this month and I highly, highly, highly recommend it…especially if you ever plan on being pregnant or currently have a baby on the way (I'm talking to you Justina). The movie goes over in detail the drastic differences between hospital births and families that choose to stay at home and use certified midwives. You witness several actual births thru out the documentary so this is not for the squeamish. It left me crying like a baby and feeling like my body is amazing. A definite must see.

holy crap.
Robert
Robert has been my husband’s best friend since they were little boys. He is also our next-door neighbor. Marlow is madly in love with Robert. Our back yards are connected and Marlow loves to run next door and shove his head into their dog door (its too small for his whole body). Robert gives Marlow doggie snacks and cheeses. Marlow thinks Robert is the bomb.

12 weeks
We saw the baby this morning. It was incredible. It was moving all over the place, waving its arms, opening its mouth. We could see the heart beating in its chest. In the second to last photo the baby was trying to suck on its thumb but settled for sucking on the back of its hand. It was so amazing. Drew announced during the ultrasound that the baby has the "Baker nose" for sure. Its only 12 weeks and it already has a prominent schnoze. I plan on pinching him later when he least expects it for making that comment. We will be able to find out the sex on July 8th. I can't wait.

My Drew...
Drew is wonderful.
On Friday Drew graduated from college. We had a big surprise dinner for him Friday night at his favorite BBQ joint. He thought it was just going to be us, but I had invited 16 people. I also ruined the surprise right before we left, but that is because I suck at keeping secrets. He was still super excited.
On Saturday Drew was supposed to participate in a 4 mile run out in Wimberley, Texas for his solar company. Our car broke down on the way though, and we missed the race. The awesome part is that Drew and Robert completely fixed the car all by themselves. It is wonderful having such handy men in my life. I bought the baby bib Drew is modeling (I LOVE TACOS) out in Wimberley. No one thought it was as funny as I did. I still can’t look at the picture with out laughing.
On Sunday Drew spoiled me by cleaning the yard, house and dog.
Drew is wonderful.

oh my god....
I am completely in love with this baby sling I found in the new edition of Domino magazine. It is beautiful 100% organic cotton with a super soft brushed interior on the inside for baby. I love the grass green color with the marigold on the inside. It is beautiful and the embroidery on the outside has been done by hand. (sigh) The website said they will only have limited quantities available in June and that one must preorder. The website is stressing me out. I think I have to have this beautiful baby sling. www.serenaandlily.com
Totally Awesome...
I received a very cool surprise present in the mail yesterday. My parents (thanks mom and dad!) sent me a tiny flip video. It is a little tiny camcorder that is the size of a cell phone. It is so simple a monkey could use it… which means it is perfect for me. I will try to upload some video soon.
