21 weeks...

Owen and I have been flying solo during the days the last few weeks because grandma and pa were out of town. We were happy to see them return safely, and Owen was even happier that they brought him back a fancy hat, sunglasses and a new big boy toy.

Our big boy started eating rice cereal this week, and he is loving it. He is also rolling over on his belly like a pro. He will be crawling before we know it.

20 weeks...

Taste of Key West

The three of us went to the Taste of Key West last night...and we spent a total of 10 minutes there. Sir GrumpsAlot was not having a good time, and he smacked me across the chest and starting wailing right after our sample of duck liver pate. Owen and I quickly went home while Drew grabbed some food with the rest of our tickets and met up with us. We enjoyed the the rest of our food picnic style on the living room floor...away from the crazy crowds. This made Owen MUCH happier.

19 weeks...

Teething has made the last week pretty rough. Owen now has TWO bottom teeth. They are impossible to get a picture of though. I think the teething has slowed down for now. Our little chunker is starting to act like his happy self again...and this makes momma happy.

Crab Trapping...

I went on the boat for the first time since Ive been here. (no one wanted to take super pregnant sara on a boat). My dad and Drew have been setting traps for stone crab claws for a few months now. Super yum. The season is almost up. The traps are baited with frozen pig feet. The crab in the third picture is actually holding on to a pig foot bone that he stripped clean. They are mean little dudes. If the claws are big enough they are quickly ripped off, and the crab is flung back into the water to live another day and grow another claw. Super super yummy.

18 weeks...

Owen had his 4 month check up this week. Our little guy is currently 18.7 pounds and 27 inches long. I hated having to take him to get his shots but he took them like a trooper. Owen also has his first tooth coming in this week. Its a super sharp little thing in the middle of his bottom row. He has been chewing on things like crazy for days now, but I thought it was way too soon to be teething. Then grandma got bit by the little shark tooth. Our little guy is becoming a big boy super fast...too fast.

our secret shame...

Drew and I are disgusting. We both love to go to Waffle House and order hash browns "scattered all the way". This means that they mix your hash browns with every damn ingredient in the kitchen and then top the whole mess with chili. Its one of those things that I feel too embarrassed to order with any one other than Drew. Mostly because it looks like they just slapped some dog food on your plate. Seriously yummy dog food...best washed down with a tall glass of chocolate milk.

Happy Birthday Susie...

Happy Birthday Mom. I love you oh so much. Owen loves you like crazy too. You were the first one to make him laugh, and you are always there to give him a good cuddle when he needs one...me too.

17 weeks...

Owen has been seriously losing his hair this last week. I find it every where he naps. Mommy has been seriously losing her hair for the last month as well. I knew hair loss would happen around this time, but the amount of hair I have lost is totally insane. I keep making drew promise to let me know if I have a bald spot (please god no).

Owen pays attention really well now. He loves to watch cartoons, turns his head when he hears people talk, and loves to watch me eat and drink. I think he is SO ready to have some real food. He needs to fully sit up like a big boy before we upgrade to the rice cereal.
